📚 Wray Elementary students in grades 3–6 had another great quarter of reading! Here are the top ten readers in grades 3, 4, 5, and 6 for Quarter 3. Each quarter, the top ten students receive a certificate along with a small gift certificate to a local business. This quarter, students received a gift certificate to the Cliff Cultural Community Center here in Wray. Also, listed below are the top readers in each grade: Sovereign with 837,746 words read this quarter, Ted with 959,074 words, Beau with 335,343 words, and Arianda with 190,629 words. 📚

Wray School District will be celebrating all of our different cultures. We will be having a “Festival of the Cultures” day during Parent Teachers Conferences on March 6th from 9:00-2:00. The day will include food, games and activities, and informational tables of the different cultures represented in Wray School District. Come and join us for a fun and educational day.

Wray Elementary students enjoyed visiting the petting zoo put on by the Wray FFA.

It was a great opportunity for our students to interact with the animals and learn more about agriculture from the FFA members. Thank you to the Wray FFA for organizing such a fun and educational experience for our Eagles! 🐐🐑🐄

Wray Elementary hosted its annual Spelling Bee today. We had 14 finalists from 3rd to 6th grade participate, and our winner was Michael Cure from 3rd grade.

A huge shoutout to Mrs. Brueggeman for serving as our announcer and keeping the event running so smoothly. Congratulations to all of our participants. It takes a lot of courage to stand on stage and spell in front of a huge audience. We are proud of each and every one of you!

La escuela primaria Wray celebró hoy su concurso anual de ortografía. Participaron 14 finalistas de 3.º a 6.º grado, y el ganador fue Michael Cure, de 3er grado.

Muchísimas gracias a la Sra. Brueggeman por servir como nuestra presentadora y hacer que el evento se desarrollara sin problemas. Felicidades a todos los participantes. WES students who attended the Ultimate Celebration at NJC had fun learning about space. They made rockets, spent time in a planetarium and worked with robotics.

Wray students were honored by the local post of the VFW for the essays they submitted on the topic “What Does Patriotism Mean to Me?"

The Wray FBLA Chapter had a big day today in Sterling at the District 4 Leadership Conference! From the test taking that happened throughout the month of January to the live in person events that took place today, these students have received an automatic invitation to the State Leadership Conference in April.

These WES students recently participated in a national math contest, Noetic Math, where they took an assessment and were ranked amongst other students in the same grades nationally. These students practiced on their own and represented Wray very well! Congrats and good luck on the Spring Assessment!

Adventure Vision is back! Adventure Vision will be providing eye exams and glasses to the Wray Community on Tuesday, February 3rd, and Wednesday, February 4th. Adventure Vision accepts Medicaid, CHP+, Eyemed, and Spectera. They are also running a special for anyone who does not fall under those coverages; it includes an eye exam and glasses for $109. Students with CHP+ will receive an eye exam and one pair of glasses. Medicaid will receive an eye exam and two pairs of glasses. Private insurance will receive an eye exam, which includes their prescription for glasses, and the quote for the cost of a pair of glasses. Adventure Vision has a 10-voucher limit for uninsured students with Von's Vision Vouchers. Adventure Vision requested a deadline of January 29th for the paperwork. An appointment is required. Please contact the school office or email nsmith@neboces.org. Scheduling will occur after the completion of the paperwork! Please submit the forms to nsmith@neboces.org or to the school by Thursday, January 29th.
