Summer School Pics!

We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all of our students, staff, and families who participated in summer school this year. From engaging lessons and creative projects to fun activities and special moments, it was truly another amazing and memorable summer! We are so proud of the hard work and growth we witnessed in our students. A heartfelt thank you goes out to our dedicated staff and supportive families who helped make this program such a success. Special appreciation also goes to the Wray Public Library for enriching our experience with their valuable support and resources. This year, we had just over 52 students attend summer school, and we proudly celebrated 12 students who earned a Perfect Attendance Award! We wrapped up our final day with donuts and juice as a fun “Woohoo—we made it!” celebration. Wishing everyone a safe, restful, and joy-filled summer. We’ll see you again soon! Agradecemos sinceramente a nuestro dedicado personal y a las familias que nos apoyaron y ayudaron a que este programa fuera todo un éxito. También agradecemos especialmente a la Biblioteca Pública de Wray por enriquecer nuestra experiencia con su valioso apoyo y recursos. Este año, tuvimos poco más de 52 estudiantes en la escuela de verano, ¡y celebramos con orgullo a 12 estudiantes que obtuvieron el Premio a la Asistencia Perfecta! The 4th graders enjoyed a game of capture the flag, Gatorade, pizza, and a high school teammate as a reward for working hard during testing. Thank you to the high school boys who joined. As their testing incentive, 5th & 6th graders earned a trip to Rainbow Park for a fun day in the sun. Part 2 The Recycle Club enjoyed the day celebrating their hard work at Lava Island. The club’s mission each year is to divert waste from the landfill. They spent each meeting collecting, sorting, and hauling paper, cardboard, cans, and plastic. Congratulations on a job well done! ---- El Club de Reciclaje disfrutó del día celebrando su duro trabajo en la Isla de Lava. La misión del club cada año es desviar los residuos del vertedero. Pasaron cada reunión recogiendo, clasificando y transportando papel, cartón, latas y plástico. ¡Enhorabuena por un trabajo bien hecho!

Wray Elementary’s First Grade was fortunate enough to partner with three of Wray’s local businesses to give the students a better understanding of the cattle industry. Twin Forks Clinic, Wray Meat, and Tri-State Livestock Exchange each provided our first graders with a behind-the-scenes experience. In the classroom, the first graders have also been working through a project entitled “Cattle, Corn, and Courage”, sponsored by Colorado Agriculture in the Classroom, with the goal of giving kids an understanding of where their food comes from. ---- El primer grado de Wray Primaria tuvo la suerte de asociarse con tres de las empresas locales de Wray para dar a los estudiantes una mejor comprensión de la industria ganadera. Yesterday we celebrated two incredible retirees who have made a lasting impact on our district. Jo Jones has served faithfully in our transportation department for 11 years, ensuring our students traveled safely every day. Yoli Castillo has dedicated an amazing 36 years to our elementary school, touching countless young lives with her care and commitment. Thank you both for your years of service—you will be deeply missed and always appreciated! --- Ayer celebramos a dos increíbles jubiladas que han dejado una huella duradera en nuestro distrito.
